The book "What Makes Women Happy" by Fay Weldon says that women generally come up with a list of what makes them happy and in that order...
- Sex
- Food
- Friends
- Family
- Shopping
- Chocolate
Realise that 'Love' is not in that list... The author also said that women tend to be happy for no more than ten minutes at each time... Usually, after the ten minutes, doubt and self-reproach sets in... And we begin to ask ourselves if we should do this, if there is a better way to do things...
I was once a believer in soulmates... That there's someone who was specially made for you and likewise you were created for that one person... I believed that you would meet that someone at the right time and fall in love with the person and live happily after...
Now that I think about it, it's just sad that I stop believing... Probably thanks to all the screwups that I've had... Some, however, can still remain optimistic... I salute these people... Maybe one day I would believe it again...
